Of course, environmental protection is close to our hearts. We have the privilege to live in the midst of rich nature, which is close to our hearts and which we want to preserve and maintain. The topic of environmental protection and sustainability should be a matter of course for everyone nowadays. We also want to actively make our contribution. As hosts, it is our standard to offer our guests a sustainable home away from home and to make their stay as environmentally friendly as possible.
Everything eco, or what?
“Do good and talk about it” – we follow this famous quote without being obtrusive. For us, the use of energy-saving electrical appliances and LED lamps is just as much a part of active environmental protection as the use of environmentally friendly green electricity and green gas. The CO2 emissions from the combustion of green gas are neutralized 100% through climate protection projects. Green electricity is generated 100 percent from renewable energy sources.
Separate what doesn’t belong together!
The conscious reduction of waste is a matter close to our heart. Of course, during your stay you will have various containers for waste separation at your disposal. You can easily separate plastic, paper, glass and organic waste. We also have collection bins for old batteries, even though we use rechargeable batteries ourselves in the vacation apartment.
Recharge the batteries
The e-mobility of our guests is especially important to us. With us you can of course recharge the batteries of your e-bike while you park your bikes safely in a lockable bike room. This bike room belongs, as long as you are our guest, with the apartment. The possibility to charge the batteries of your e-car is also available in the immediate vicinity at Bevern Castle and is available around the clock.
Refreshment from the tap
When it comes to water, we actively try to protect the environment and constantly reduce consumption. Water is one of the most precious raw materials on earth. In order to save water, it is not enough for us to reduce only our own consumption, but also that of our vacation apartment. Thanks to the use of water-saving mixer taps at the washbasin and shower, as well as water-saving cisterns at the toilet in our vacation apartment, the consumption is reduced quite automatically. By the way: The tap water in our home community has drinking water quality! It can be used without further ado to prepare coffee, tea or sparkling water.
Planting trees = protecting the climate
The local forest is especially close to our hearts! Since this has suffered greatly in recent years due to storms, droughts and bark beetle infestation, we invest one euro for each booking for reforestation measures to support the Lower Saxony State Forests in their important work. The Landesforsten have started their own campaign for the reforestation of the local forest, in which we participate: www.klima-aktion-wald.de.
